If you know me, you know I love the New York Islanders. I have been going to Islander games since I was around 3 years old. Every year my dad would make sure we went a game every season. From a young age I was intrigued by the high intensity of the games. Though the Islanders haven’t best team in the league, it was always enjoyable to go to. As I got older I got more into it and I understood a lot more about the game of hockey and the New York Islanders as a team. I even went to over 50 games in the last 3 seasons. No matter how the team was doing, it was still something I was supportive of. Ive heard ALL the trash talk from the Ranger and Bruins fans but nothing has ever changed my love for the New York Islanders. So much has changed with this team in such a short amount of time that it is just fascinating to see them play. They have definitely faced their fair share of hardships from last season, but with that, they persevered. This years group of players have been so dedicated and diligent and with that, they are continuing to prove people wrong. They just mesh so well together. For the first time in a long time, the New York Islanders are in first place in the Metropolitan Division. This makes everything that more enjoyable. The Coliseum is so loud and everyone in it is just full of support. I have never experienced anything like this in comparison to previous seasons. The players are just as amazing on and off the ice. They thank the fans almost every night for their love and support. And as a fan, that is really special. If you’re from Long Island or around the area, I suggest you go to see a game before the season ends. I promise you won’t regret it.
We are all Islanders.
